A Different View

Since WholyFit takes into account the whole "you" - body, mind and spirit, we seek foods that sanctify our bodies in order to build up the corporate body of Christ and to live longer to do His work.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that if we seek health first, every other fitness goal will follow.

Matthew 6:33
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

However we avoid taking a "holier than thou" attitude and we are not dogmatic about foods.  We do not assign moral value to foods (i.e. we do not advocate any foods as "sinful" per-se.)  We know that God has made us all differently and that different bodies respond differently to foods.

We do know one thing: 

Adding more raw green vegetables and eliminating toxins in food, water you ingest & from the air you breathe is key to health.  No one would disagree.  Everyone knows this. 

What I have found by actual experience is that most people DON'T WANT TO LIFE A LONG LIFE.  This is what concerns me more than weight loss for my clients.

Deuteronomy 30:15
"But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity;

Deuteronomy 30:19
"...I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,"

Although the verse above speak of choosing to follow God's Word and Ways, (not food choices specifically)  these verses still make the point that God has provided everything we need for life and godliness.  You can almost hear His pleading voice that we would choose His ways and use the wisdom He provides for our own good.  

So what I focus on through WholyFit is longevity of body, mind and spirit.  What has worked the best and never fails to give results are: raw vegetables and living toxicity free. 

From actual experience trying just about every nutrition program offered by the fitness industry in the last 2 decades of my professional fitness career I (Laura) have experienced that the key above is most vital to weight loss and fitness training.  At 50 years old, as a fitness instructor and martial arts practitioner/competitor I need to fuel my body for performance.  Your life needs fueling no less than mine does.

If you eat the S.A.D.  Standard American Diet how can you expect to receive different results than everyone around you?  Heart attacks, High blood pressure, diabetes- all these are illnesses can be brought on by a poor diet. 

Sanctification means to be set apart for God.  This means we need to eat differently than our culture.  When we do, we will receive different results:  health, vitality, long life.  It's embarrassing to eat "wierd" food, but if being "wierd" means that I am one of the odd ones in our culture to live to be 120 years old, I'm ok with wierdness.  My burning passion is to help more Christians eat well so that it's not wierd.  It should be the norm.

Isaiah 5:13
Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge;And their honorable men are famished,And their multitude is parched with thirst.

Our food doesn't quench our hunger because we constantly crave more when we don't get the nutrients God has designed for our bodies to have.  Our water doesn't quench our thirst when it doesn't have vital minerals in it.

So why do we not eat raw veggies when weight loss and anti-aging depends on them?  Because we don't know how and we don't like them.  Here's where our raw food chef, Mitzi Curtis comes in.
